I am grateful that I do not need to know everything and that I don’t need to be God. Sometimes as a mom I worry about my children and their future. Will they seek the Lord? How do I make their faith grow? How do I make them choose what is right for them? The Lord reminded me that I am not God. He reminded me that I am their mom and a vessel the Lord will use to lead them to Him. I trust that He knows the plans he has for me and my children.
Jeremiah 29:11
For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.
Psalm 139:16
You saw me before I was born. Every day of my life was recorded in your book. Every moment was laid out before a single day had passed.
Wow! That burden we carry as parents for our children, can be lifted up if we just trust in God. We are not alone in this! He knows all things and is in control. He has written our children’s plans and they are good! We cannot transform our children’s hearts, but God working in them can!
Philippians 2:13
For it is God working in you, giving you the desire and the power to do what pleases him.
What I can do is love my children with the love of Christ in me and instruct them. Speak God’s word to them and be who God has called me to be for them. It does not mean they will never make mistakes or not face any struggles, but they will know who to turn to in their time of need. If the Lord allows them to walk through the fire, it is only to strengthen their faith as He as done in me. I will continue to be a vessel in God’s hands and I will continue pray for my children. I will trust in the Lord.
