Daily Gratitude Journal Day 11

I am grateful for time and what can happen in time. Sometimes we want to rush things because we wan to see results. When we do this, we are trying to take control of the situation in a way that we cannot. Only time can give you the results or outcome you are wanting. Some things just take time, like reaching certain goals, changing habits, or learning something new. Yes, there is action in your part to reach your goals, but still “time” plays a very important role. When getting the results we want is taking too long, we tend to give up, get upset, and frustrated because were are not realizing that the time needed has not yet been completed. Remember, “In due time.”

1 Peter 5:6

Humble yourself, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time.

Everything has it’s time in which it will produce fruit, or the results you are expecting. When I began homeschooling, I wanted things to go as scheduled and smooth right from the start. Yeah right! Who was I kidding? It was frustrating, and it filled me with fear and uncertainty that it did not go as smooth as I wanted it to. Tears were shed, voices were raised, and thoughts of giving up crossed my mind. This was in the first day!

It takes time for things to produce the fruit you are are wanting. When you rush it, you are undermining the importance and power of time. God created time for a reason. During our waiting, we learn, we get strengthened, and our patience and faith grows. When we rush we do not allow time to do its work and we miss out on what it was intended to do. I had to humble myself and allow my children to mature, as well as myself. It took time. Longer than I would have chosen. But, I began to see the days go smoothly and be more effective. My high-schooler does school literally on his own. But it took me not giving up and continuing with the work that needed to be done, and TIME.

Humble yourself in all your struggles. It may be as struggle because you are trying to rush and see the results you want right away. Humble yourself and in due time the Lord will lift you up.

I am a wife and a mom. The Lord has been working in my life. Throughout the last four years, He has flipped my life upside down, healed my heart, and given me a passion and vision to reach out and encourage women with His word.
