I am grateful for prayer and the power of prayer! When my soul is heavy with the worries of being a parent and raising children, or worries that the days bring, I come to the Lord in prayer. I open my heart to Him and make known my pain, concerns, and I make my request. Quickly He begins to minister to me with His word.
Psalm 119:28
I weep with sorrow; encourage me by your word.
It is in prayer that the Lord speaks to our hearts and givesg us comfort and strength. He sees us, He hears and He answers.
Psalm 138:3
As soon as I pray, you answer me; you encourage me by giving me strength.
I encourage you to read His word daily. Let it be your daily bread that nourishes your spirit. In the Word we read of His promises for us. We read what he has spoken about who we are in Him and who He is in us. We read the truth and the truth sets us free. Having all this living and active Word in our hearts will strengthen us in our weakness. As you come to the Lord in prayer with a heavy burden, the Holy Spirit is quick to remind us of what the Lord has told us, and He strengthens us and gives us the peace we need.
John 14:26
But the the father sent the advocate as my representative- that is the Holy Spirit- he will teach you everything and will remind you of everything I have told you.
