Daily Gratitude Journal Day 14

I am grateful for redirection. There have been times when I stop working on things and it bothers me as to why I am not working on those things. You know, motivation and inspiration gets us started on pursuing something. Whether it is a health goal, a business goal, writing a book, or starting a ministry, the easy part is getting started. You get inspired, and then it motivates you, and you begin to start moving towards this new goal. But then slowly the motivation wears off, you face obstacles, and your goal seems to be slipping away.

Proverbs 29:18

Where there is no revelation, people cast off restraint; but blessed is the one who heeds wisdom’s instructions.

Just like getting started is the easy part, so is losing motivation. So many never reach their goals. Think about something you were inspired to do. You got started and then you stopped because the motivation just wasn’t there anymore. The good thing is there is a way to redirect our focus to the desire the Lord has put in our hearts, “VISION”. You need to to know where are your heading. You need to visualize it and keep it close to your heart and mind. Stay focused on that and everyday redirect your focus on your vision. Vision is what keeps you disciplined to do the things you need to do everyday, even when the motivation is not there. Just like Proverbs 29:18 says, “People without revelation, or vision, cast off restraint.” Those without vision, or goals, have no direction in their day. They go about their day with no real meaning. Nothing to work towards, and then they wake up 20 years later realizing they spent their life wandering aimlessly without a vision to keep them working towards something meaningful to them. Proverbs 29:18 goes on to say, “But blessed is the own who heeds wisdom’s instructions.” There you go, direction! Know exactly where you want to go, who want to be, or what you want to do, will show you what you need to do everyday to get there. Vision comes with direction. What is your desire? Have a vision for it and begin daily to do the things you need to do to reach that goal. Even if you can only do one thing today, do it. Have a “Vision” and daily direct your focus to it and reach it!

I am a wife and a mom. The Lord has been working in my life. Throughout the last four years, He has flipped my life upside down, healed my heart, and given me a passion and vision to reach out and encourage women with His word.
