Daily Gratitude Journal Day 2

I am grateful for the ability to be patient when I need to wait for things desire. Sitting in my kitchen, which is newly renovated, reminds me of being patient. It may be hard at times, but we are equipped to be patient. We bought this home a little over 2 years ago and renovating the kitchen was in our plans. We contemplated starting the renovation many times before, but the timing was wrong. So, we waited. We appreciated what we did have, we were patient, and finally the moment came when we were able to move forward to make the changes we wanted to make this our dream kitchen.

Ephesians 5:22-23

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, and faithfulness.

Colossians 3:12

Therefore, as God’s chosen, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourself with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience.

God knows the desires of our hearts. There are times when those blessings come quick, and then there are times the we need to wait and not settle for the quick option. We could have renovated our kitchen a year ago, but we would not have been able to tear down two walls to make our kitchen bigger. We would have ended up with still a tiny kitchen with new cabinets and appliances. I knew that was not what I desired. I knew that If I was patient, the time would come. I am grateful that the Lord equips us with all we need to be able to wait. The Spirit that dwells inside of us gives us the ability to wait in patience and have joy and peace through it. When we don’t allow the Holy Spirit to work in us and through us in those moments when we need to wait, we rush into quick options that we will regret later. Many have the thought, “If only I had waited.” Do not let that be you. As a child of God, clothe yourself with humility and patience. What ever your desire is and what ever you are waiting for, wait on the Lord. His plans are better than ours and He will fulfill His plans.

I am a wife and a mom. The Lord has been working in my life. Throughout the last four years, He has flipped my life upside down, healed my heart, and given me a passion and vision to reach out and encourage women with His word.
